Information on the implementation of the strategy

Information on the results of "Mathematics and Physics" University Department of Strategy

   The implementation of the educational program of the specialty 5B010900-Mathematics and 5B011000- "Physics" is carried out in accordance with the mission of the university and determines the specifics of the program, the characteristics of groups of students of the specialty and the educational results they receive.
   The Strategic Development Plan of the Arkalyk State Pedagogical Institute for 2017-2021, approved by the Academic Council of the Institute of Education; the international cooperation; research and development; educational work on the formation of personality; ways to improve the quality of management of learning processes; Strengthening the material and technical base and education in the field of education (Minutes No.9 of 22.02.2017). To implement the strategic goals and objectives of the Arkalyk State Pedagogical Institute named after Y. Altynsarin for 2017-2021, the following work was carried out at the Department of Mathematics and Physics:

1. Preparation of multilingual teachers.
   On the instructions of the Head of State, a national plan for the development of functional literacy of students was developed and approved. Modern requirements are multilingual training and multilingual education.
Since the academic year 2014-2015, elective discipline "Electromagnetism", "Optics", "Atom and Atomic Nucleus Physics" have been introduced into the curriculum of the specialty of physics, which are conducted in three groups of languages: Kazakh and Russian groups, which allows implementing the policy of multilingualism Discipline is conducted at 1, 2, 3 courses, consists of 3 credits each.
   In order to prepare students for mastering the teaching of subjects in three languages (Kazakh - Russian - English) in 2016-2017, the course was upgraded in English.
  To ensure professional competence and staff development in 2017-2018 academic year, the Faculty of Additional Education was opened. Dean of this faculty was E. Smetanova, professor at the University of St. Cyril and Methodius (Trnava, Slovakia). English courses for teaching staff and students of different levels (Beginner, Elementary, Professional) have been organized.

3. Development and implementation of special elective disciplines in strategic areas for specialties
  The department conducts an annual work to update curricula of specialties, taking into account the needs of employers and on the basis of letters from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In particular, the specialty of mathematics is 3 courses (6 semester), the organization of independent work on teaching mathematics in the 12-year education system, the physics specialization is 3 courses (6 semester), the organization of independent work on teaching physics in the 12-year education system.
  As well as the following changes were made to curricula of specialties based on the offers of schools to meet the requirements of the employer:
  From the 2016-2017 school year, an interdisciplinary course "Robotics" is being introduced in all schools, integrating the foundations of mathematics, computer science, technology, engineering, contributing to the development of technical thinking and functional literacy in children. Communication with this in order to develop the professional competence of students on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council (Minutes No. 1 of August 31, 2017), the elective discipline "Fundamentals of Robotics", provided with sets of Lego Education Base set LEGO MINDSTORMS, Lego Education Resource kit LEGO MINDSTORMS, Robot Ubtech Alpha Pro, Robot constructor mBot Ranger from MakeBlock, 3D printer InterPrint i3 (1.75 mm 0,4 mm). At present, elective classes in robotics are held in secondary schools in the region. In connection with this, at the request of the employer, the elective discipline "Fundamentals of Robotics", 3 credits, was included in the Mathematics and Physics (reception of 2017).

  Analysis of the results of the state examinations and defense of the thesis for 3 years shows that the level of knowledge of the graduates is of good quality.
   The quality of academic performance and knowledge of the students of the educational program can be judged by the external evaluation of educational achievements (OED) conducted in 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018 school years. The data of the VOUD are reflected in Table 1, 2.3.

6. Develop a spirituality, humanism, inter-ethnic and inter-confessional consent in the spirit of the Kazakhstan patriotism
Based on the goal of active youth policy among students, the formation of patriotic feelings among young people and the propaganda of ideas of friendship, brotherhood and unity among students, the following activities were held at the department:
   In 2014-2015 academic year, in the groups F-11, F-31, an educational hour was conducted on the topic "Желтоқсан тағылымы", based on the history of the coup led by our brothers and sisters Kairat and Sabira in 1986.
  Curator B.Z. Uzakova conducted an educational watch on the topics "Алтын қақпа", "Қазақ ырымдарының тәрбиеге әсері" for the popularization of Kazakh rhetoric, the education of our youth for humanity, morality and good, and adhere to the eternal words of our ancestors. The groups of our department organized festive events dedicated to the Day of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan: F-31 - "Елін сүйген, ел басы"; F-21, 22; F-11 - "Ел тірегі, ел жүрегі – Елбасы"; M-31 - "Елбасы-ел тірегі"; M-21 - "Елбасымен бірге еңсесі биік жастар".
  Speaking about the events, open lessons were conducted on the topics "Туған тілім-тірегімнің айғағы", "Ата Заң тұрақтылығы-Қазақстан тұрақтылығы".

8. Passage of national and international accreditation of educational programs specialty
  In 2015, the educational program of the specialty 5B010900 - Mathematics and 5B011000 - Physics passed specialized accreditation. Accreditation was conducted by NKAO (Independent Kazakhstan Agency for Quality Assurance in Education). Accreditation of the educational program was conducted according to 7 standards. According to the conclusion, the educational program complies with all 7 standards. Based on the analysis of the self-assessment report, the preliminary audit report, the external visit report, the Independent Kazakhstan Agency for Quality Assurance in Education recommended to accredit the educational programs 5В010900 - Mathematics and 5В011000- Physics.
According to the conclusion on specialized accreditation of specialties 5B010900 - Mathematics and 5B011000 - Physics, there are a number of recommendations on which the following measures were taken:
OP Mathematics
Standard 1. The objectives of the educational program
Recommendations:
  Involvement of employers, as the main consumers of the educational program, in the formation of the goal of the educational program and the catalog of elective disciplines with the definition of the professional competencies of graduates.
Corrective actions:
   For the purposes of the educational program, the specificity of the specialty, achieved through the inclusion of elective disciplines in the program, is reflected. Educational institutions in the region take part in the discussion of the content of the OP. Based on consultations and interviews with employers, various activities of the regional education departments, employers' applications, interviews with former graduates, a comprehensive analysis is conducted and current problems of the requirements for the qualification of teachers are determined. After that, in order to solve these problems, a list of elective courses is compiled at the department and distributed to employers. Elective courses selected by employers are included in the curriculum.
Standard 3. Students

Attraction of students to participate in various competitions at the national and international level.
Corrective actions:
   Students of the 4th and 3rd year of the mathematics specialty took part in the republican subject Olympiad, which was held on April 6-07, 2016 at the International Kazakh-Turkish University named after the Skin of Ahmet Yasaui of the city of Turkestan.
Standard 5. Teaching staff.
   Insufficient share of graded teachers, in connection with this, the master teachers should be active in the publication of their scientific papers in publications with a non-zero impact factor. It is necessary to increase activity in the implementation of research work in the framework of grants projects financed by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Corrective actions:
  In the 2015-16 academic year, the number of professorship in the specialty of mathematics was enriched by Master M. Karimov who studied at the Eurasian National University on a targeted grant.
OP Physics
Standard 1.
Recommendations:
   To update the purpose of the educational program by using international, national, regional interests and the needs of specialists in the relevant industry, determining the role of the educational program in the competent training of specialists.
Corrective actions:
   The purpose of the educational program is to prepare a bachelor's degree in the specialty 5B011000-Physics, to meet the needs of the region, which is built on a national model of education focused on the result and involves the training of a specialist of a new formation with a multicultural, communicative ability capable of creatively and highly professional decisions at the modern scientific and practical level socially significant tasks in the pedagogical sphere of activity.
Standard 2
   To improve the educational program, it is necessary to develop a plan for its development using an integrated system assessment to improve and adjust the educational program.

Insufficient share of graded teachers
Corrective actions:
  In the 2015-16 academic year, the number of teaching staff was supplemented by G. Abildaev and V. Uspanov, masters of the Eurasian National University. N. Gumilev and KazNPU them.
